Designer and Contest Judge Campion Platt
I’m always struck by the shear innovation of these designers using a limited tool kit to create such varied and wonderful designs. Back to School is always an inspiring time of year and all the designers captured, in some way, this essential and elementary concept. I love all the designs but confined myself, as a judge, to comment on those designs which inspired me to think further than this contest.
Thank you designers for that! Enjoy the fall.
The Winners are:
Cheryl Bossom Hardy: This is richest in content of the designs and worthy of great praise to manipulate some many objects to create the ensemble. The colors could be brighter, but the architecture is brilliant. This is a seriously meticulous student
Maria Illiaki-This is the most sophisticated and visually complete design. The subtle asymmetrical play on the objects and full room creation is very livable. And of course I am partial to lavender
Ronnie Uncles Cutteridge – A thoroughly conceptual and rigorous theme in execution. The design elements could be better placed in the room, but the overall effect is awesome, and the connection between object and accessory is solid. Gungho!
Julieanne Davidson- This is design is crazy fun and other-worldly, exactly what the teacher ordered to stimulate the creative juices in the fall season, love the light fixtures – congrats!
Cynthia Blaine -Totally fun and creative room, a great room to study in and be inspired. The dark ceiling and floor cocoon the open plan objects and provide a strong visual ground upon which to build the design. I think this young designer is way beyond teddy bears
Congrats to the winners and all of your who made this contest a huge success!!!
